Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. Henry David Thoreau

Yes,  I have been gone

 a wandering.

Blogging and blithering.

Two years ago,

I didn't even know the word

blog.

I am through wandering

around blogworld

entering giveaways

and commenting

to total strangers

about their blogs

so I could win some

of their fabulous stuff.

I quit.

I have entered a twelve-step program

to cure me of this ill.

I am back to work

updating you on the house

and the marvelous progress that is

being made.

Here is today's installation:

Front Porch Ready to Be Poured.

Much bracing and boarding up

because

there is nothing under the hole where the concrete will go.

My husband calls it "The Chicken Room".

It will be a tornado shelter under the front porch.

Concrete on all four sides...top...bottom.

Take that, Kansas.

Anyway, the concrete is drying and

I will have pictures of the drying concrete later today.

Try to control yourselves.

  1. mom, it makes me sad that you have never won anything. . . and that you think you need to stop your blog addiction. i think you should do what your heart loves! like be out and about on the blogs. so, does having a tornado shelter mean that you don't have a basement in your new place?

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." Ralph Waldo Emerson
