Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. Henry David Thoreau

It is 9:30 am and I am still wearing my pj's.
I am thinking of going back to bed
after I eat a dark chocolate granola bar.

Last night was the first night
of v.b.s.

For those of you heathen
who don't know what v.b.s. is

It is

V.ery  B.ack S.ore

It is

V.erry B.rain S.oggy

It is

V.illage B.e S.illy

I got to the church at 4:30 to finish some things.
I got home at 9:15

This morning I foolishly, innocently asked my hubby
if there was anything I could do to help him today.

He looked as serious as could be
and said that he needed somebody to go

to what????

drive to Joplin and look at paint chips?
no problemo.

drive to Joplin and look around Target?
got it covered.

drive to Joplin
browse the flea markets for treasures?
count me in.

drive to Joplin and pick up
some herb plants at the flower market?
I can handle that.

N.O.
He did mention that he needs
someone to come out and pick up all the nails
that the guys have thrown down all around and everywhere.

Just. Shoot. Me.

I have a headache.
My back hurts from sitting for four hours in
a baby chair.

I'm going back to bed
so I can leave for VBS around 3:30 today.
I can take a nap under the cool
blue tent I made for the
ungrateful 2 year olds
and watch a movie .
No one will even know where I am.
You can join me if you are an adult
Just bring brownies.

Until then,
here are some pictures
of

a happy weekend with the girlies.

Not these girlies...

this precious baby girl.
She is feeding the hungry horse a blade of grass.

and this precious little girl.
who is also bravely offering her blade of grass.

I just realized that my husband is wearing
a flower in his hair.

Being a Grandpa does fun things to you.

  2. whose horses are those? i want to visit them! Kev said that you guys were all eating with the girls while they were there (i'm guessing at arby's by the jamocha almond shake incident), and dad was letting annalee eat only ketchup and j.a.s. and kevin made the comment that he can't believe you guys raised four of us, then dad laughed so hard he choked, then annalee mimicked his choking just to get a laugh too. I can't believe i'm missing her growing up! ugh! i need some extended video of her just being her silly self so i can feel like i at least know her a little.

  3. Oh my goodness. This is my very favorite The Cedars post yet. I laughed. I teared up. You are clever, dear MIL, very clever indeed.

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." Ralph Waldo Emerson
