White Wednesday

My oh my, how many times
have I shown you
some obscure piece of equipment
with long cords, wires, pipes, tubes or what have you
winding it's way into my front door?

This my followers
is the machine
that pumps
the white stuff
that has to cover the sheet rock
before
it
can
be
painted!

A few days ago
men were stalking the halls
wearing these cute boots.

I secretly longed to try them on
and of course have my picture taken
wearing them.

Until one of the men
mentioned that his dad
had fallen several times
wearing them
and he wears them
for a living.

I don't like falling,
so there goes that dream.

O.T.'s crew works very hard.

Today they sanded with these cool round sanders.

Just lightly,
to take any imperfections
off of the
finish.

Here is O.T.
doing something.
It was so cloudy in there,
I couldn't tell just what he was up to.

This young man is up to something all right,
up to the ceiling, that is!

It made my neck and shoulders hurt
just watching them.

Tomorrow
the sweeping begins.

Every particle of dust
that those men sanded off the walls
is waiting for me .

Dust is everywhere.

Every crack and cranny will be swept
and swept and swept
in preparation for the painter
who will begin the magic
on
Monday!!!!

When that first swipe of paint goes on
I think I will do something crazy
to celebrate.

Stay tuned.
In the meantime,
I must rest.

Tomorrow is going to be a long one.

I wish I was blogging about
making something

lovely out of tree branches
painted and glittered
and spread over
a luscious banquet of
fabulous foods
and lots of pretty ideas for decorating,
but alas it is not to be.
Yet.

Until that day,
let's enjoy my daisies from summers past
and gardens past
and keep on plugging away.

Thanks for joining me
on this journey
we're almost to the fun part.
I promise!

  1. Oh Mary Beth, your fun time will be right around the corner, I know you can't wait. It'll be worth the wait, I am sure. I'll be back to see the progress! So happy I found your blog.

  4. Oh, I am so excited for you. Painting the walls means you are getting closer to the end! I have never seen the mud get pumped in for the walls. Guys just carried it in in the big buckets here. You are going to have to shop vac that mess up. I feel for ya!

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." Ralph Waldo Emerson
