Go West Young Man! part one...

"Twenty years from now
you will be more disappointed
by the things
you didn't do
than by the ones you did do.
So, throw off the bowlines,
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the tradewinds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover."

Mark Twain

Herein lies the story
of one young man on a journey...

A Kansas boy turns his eyes to the west
and follows a dream and a girl.

Destination: Seattle

How do three young explorers make their way across this wide land?

More importantly,

How the heck do they get all of their earthly belongings there ?

This is a job for
Huebner & Associates
School of Packing.

All four of our children are
Honors Graduates
of the Huebner School of Packing
and this was the most challenging assignment on record.
Daunting, I tell you!

Reinforcements were called in.
Boxberger Inc. added much needed expertise,
muscle and encouragement.

How was all this loot from three different locations
expertly molded into one small trailer and one pickup bed you ask?

Well let me tell you!

You take 6 people
working all day...

loading and unloading,
measuring and calculating...

arranging and rearranging
re-measuring,
stuffing and reloading.
Waiting and watching,

Bake all day in 100 degree heat,

And you have one very
well done
Load.

It's the Huebner way.

Almost....

Success!

Whew!

Did I mention it was hot?

Job well done, team!

What do you do with a car, a trailer and a  pickup crammed full of
three people's treasures?

YOU DO A ROAD TRIP!

After a good dinner and good night's sleep,
we headed our little caravan
WESTWARD.

I started out trying to take pictures of Kevin and Audra in each state
that we passed through....

that was fun for a little while.

I'd tell you which states we were in,
but I have no idea....

I think this one was taken in Washington,..thus the mountains in the background!

Somewhere...not in Kansas anymore.

I am now officially in love with the American West.

Twin Falls, Idaho

Three very precious people.

my boys.

  1. I'm glad we stopped here
  2. It was just what we needed to spur us on~

Seattle, here we come!

  4. You aren't kidding that you were in my back yard. I drive to Twin Falls once a week for shopping.(it's the closest at 60 miles away from Carey. Aren't the falls spectacular! The Snake River Canyon is awe-inspiring. Kind of deserty all the way though. I'm always glad when I get back home.
You guys are master packers for sure. Wishing your son the best in the west!
So happy to hear from you Mary Beth.

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." Ralph Waldo Emerson
