Two Old Sisters and a Spring Makeover

Look what I found one dreary, rainy' winter day at the Flea Market!

Lovely bones don't you think?
I couldn't resist them with a price tag of $20 bucks each, and was pleasantly surprised when I got to the check out and found out they were ON SALE for 20% off!

I had to wait for nice weather so I could get outside and start removing the fabric...so dusty and dirty!'
I love all the turns and curves on this one!

She's a classic!

Here is her sister all stripped down..
she is embarrassed for you to see her with all her flaws!

Apparently she has had a hard life, because her sides have been shored up with metal braces.
She also has a metal spring bottom, which the other sister does not.
I kept all the fabric pieces to use as patterns for the new fabric,
but I now wish I had taken some pictures as I was going along,
 because some time has passed
and I am a little foggy about the details!
At the time I was doing it, I thought...
this looks so simple, no way am I going to forget it!
arggh.

Oh well, I'll be flying by the seat of my pants,
(or the seat of my chair!)

I'm pondering what color to paint these lovelies and am thinking of trying my hand
at the homemade chalk paint , with a light mocha glaze to show off the highlights.

I know that once I land on a fabric, the rest will fall into place.

That will  be the hard part for me.
I love every fabric I lay my eyes on.
Well, almost!
I want it to be bold, timeless, colorful, and fun.
And cheap.

This may take a while!

Sure hope I havn't bitten off more than I can chew here...
I've been know to do that!

Wish me luck!
