Me neither.
I just liked this picture of a happy girl sticking her head out the window
to greet the day.
That's what I'm going to be doing tomorrow,
if tonight's Kansas tornado
doesn't blow us all away.
Tomorrow is the last day of February,
and then we will be
finished with Winter 2011.
Thank GOD from whom all blessings flow!
Then on Tuesday morning
I will stick my head out the window and say
HELLO MARCH!
You beautiful Thang, you!
March.
I have longed for you so.
Tomorrow on the last day of February,
in celebration
of the last day of February,
I . am. taking. down. the. last. of. the. winter. decorations.
The evergreen swags
and the kitchen tree,
and the snow village,
and the snowflakes,
and the snowmen.
They are so outtaa here!
I went out and about the yard this afternoon
gathering sticks and twigs
for a birdy - springy - green
vignette.
The only bad thing about
doing all of this is
I also feel cleaned compelled to
CLEAN.
That's how I trick myself into getting things done around here.
No clean....no fun!
The worst part will be the boxing up of things,
and I swore that this year I would label the boxes and
put things away in an orderly fashion.
Pfffffffffhhhhhhhhttt!
I didn't really mean it.
I'm too anxious.
Giddy, actually.
Trembling with excitement!
March.
Is.
Almost.
Here.
Did I mention that tomorrow is the
LAST DAY OF FEBRUARY.
and the day after that is MARCH?
I just thought you should know
how happy I am about it.
goodbye February.
It's been real.
This is such a cute post. I always like reading your blog,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Run, Sally, run! LOL. Three cheers for March!
ReplyDeleteHappy March 1st, Gorgeous post, gets me ready for Spring. We just get so sick of the snow and cold about now. So today we are both sticking our heads out the window and saying Yes!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day,
Rosemary...XX
Hi Mary Beth! I didn't know how to get a hold of you but I wanted to let you know about the screens behind my bed! They're actually upholstered panels I found in an antique store! I absolutely loved them and knew they needed to come home with me! You can see more about them here (they are double sided!)

Looking forward to spring here! We started the Month of March off w/ thunderstorms and rain last night, but lots more green is peeking out. Jackie
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to look at things!! I was thinking that we had such a bad December and January that it would be like last year with snow and ice through April. But, February was overly warm. Everything is budding here only to get killed by the inevitable next freeze. But, then maybe not, lol! I love that you keep the winter decor up...I do the same. Thanks for stopping by and for the well wishes for my mom:-)
ReplyDeleteI, too, am excited about March..expecially March 13th when daylight savings time gives us another hour of daylight!! Hurrah! Hurrah for Dick and Jane, too...such memories of long ago! Ha! Yesterday "Dick and Jane", today "Harry Potter"! Anyway, I believe we are all so ready for SPRING, and even summer, so we can fuss about how hot it is! ha!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. It is what I call a "feel gooder". I am new to your blog and have spent some time browsing through your earlier entries. I'm so glad I did. You've created a lovely spot for your readers to visit. I'll definitely be back. I hope you have a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteMary Beth, the burlap post is on my sidebar at the bottom of my most popular posts if you want to look at it. It is the one with the foam core board showing in the picture.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think you might be right about a silk ivy!! I actually had two, then I cut off the faux ivy and used the form in a real pot, which died in about two months. I saved all the fauxz ivy, knowing that it might come in handy!
